| Accepted March 11, 2000 The purpose of the Farm Fair Committee is to organize a successful and profitable Hawaii State Farm Fair once the annual business plan is completed and accepted by the HFBF Board. The committee will identify, discuss and recommend:
The Farm Fair Committee shall implement projects, programs and events once approved by the executive board within the established policy guidelines. AUTHORITY OF COMMITTEE The committee may offer suggestions or clarification in the implementation of existing farm fair policies. The committee will coordinate all facets as described in the duties and responsibilities of each committee member. Each committee member shall obtain the approval of the full committee on new programs or events. The committee may recommend changes, additions or deletions to HFBF policies adopted by the delegate body. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMITTEE
REPORTABILITY The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the HFBF President and Board of Directors. All recommendations and actions of the committee will be reported to the HFBF President in writing. All subcommittee recommendations that directly or indirectly affect the Farm Fair require the full committee’s approval shall be submitted to the full committee by the sub-committee chairman or executive director. The purpose of the Government Affairs Committee is to recommend legislative or administrative action to the HFBF Board of Directors and Convention Delegates that will enhance the social, educational and economic well being of Hawaii’s agricultural community. The Government Affairs Committee will address statewide and national issues, which affect agriculture. AUTHORITY OF COMMITTEE The authority of the committee provides farmers and ranchers with an opportunity to discuss and recommend legislative or administrative changes that will enhance Hawaii’s agricultural industry. REPORTABILITY The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the HFBF President and Board of Directors. All recommendations and actions of the committee will be reported to the HFBF President in writing. All recommendations requiring Board of Directors’ approval will be submitted to the HFBF Board of Directors by the President. With the approval of the Board of Directors, recommendations will be forwarded to the organization’s delegates for approval and submission to the appropriate legislative or administrative body. The purpose of the Membership Committee is to recruit and maintain new, quality members that will be active in the Farm Bureau. The committee will identify, discuss, recommend and implement solutions to problems and address opportunities that directly affect the membership. To expand membership numbers and enhance membership benefits, the committee shall examine programs, recommend issues for policy adoption, recommend changes, improvements and ideas for program implementation, implement projects, programs and activities as appropriate. The committee will have the opportunity to identify, prioritize, discuss and recommend solutions to problems that directly impact farming or ranching activities. The committee may examine State and Federal assistance programs and funding, recommend issues for policy adoption and recommend changes, improvements and ideas for successful implementation of projects and programs designed to meet rules and regulations and improve overall production. The purpose of the Vegetable & Melon Commodity Committee is to identify, prioritize and address the problems and opportunities of the vegetable and melon sector of the industry. The committee may examine State and Federal assistance programs, recommend issues for policy adoption and recommend changes, improvements and ideas for assistance program implementation. AUTHORITY OF COMMITTEE The committee may offer suggestions or clarification in the implementation of existing policies. The committee may recommend amendments, additions or deletions to the organization’s policies.

The purpose of the Commodity Advisory committee is to bring together all of the commodity associations that have statewide representation. The committee will discuss issues that affect commodities statewide and develop action plans to seek solutions to problems or opportunities before the industry. AUTHORITY OF COMMITTEE The committee will coordinate all facets as described in the duties and responsibilities. Each committee member must be an appointed representative by the commodity association it is a member of. There shall be a number of resource members, which provide support to the committee. Each sub-committee chair shall obtain the approval of the full committee on new programs or events. The committee may offer suggestions or clarification in the implementation of existing policies. The committee may recommend amendments, additions and deletions to the organization’s policies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMITTEE

All recommendations, which do not fall within the scope of the Farm Bureau and will directly or indirectly affect the organization will be submitted for approval to the HFBF Board of Directors by the President. To establish and maintain the visibility of the Farm Bureau before the agricultural community and the general public at county, state and national levels; thus, maximize opportunities to increase the Farm Bureau’s membership base and support for Hawaii’s agricultural industry. AUTHORITY OF COMMITTEE The Public Relations Subcommittee will assist the HFBF Promotions Committee in carrying out its mission of promoting the Farm Bureau and Hawaii’s agricultural community. The subcommittee will ensure that the issuance of media releases are made in a timely and regular manner, with professional composition. Additionally, the subcommittee will work to develop relationships with the media to ensure maximum exposure. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
REPORTABILITY The subcommittee will serve in an advisory and administrative capacity to the HFBF Board of Directors and the Promotions Committee. All recommendations and actions of the subcommittee will be reported to the HFBF President and Promotions Committee in writing. All recommendations requiring Board of Directors’ approval will be submitted to the HFBF Board of Directors by the President or Executive Director. All media releases shall be reviewed and approved by the President or the Executive Director of the HFBF prior to release. The purpose of the Finance Committee is to review, recommend and implement programs that will enhance the financial position of the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation. The committee will identify, discuss, recommend and implement solutions to problems and address opportunities that directly affect the financial situation of the organization. To enhance the organization’s financial position the committee shall examine programs, recommend issues for policy adoption, recommend changes, improvements and ideas for program implementation, implement projects, programs and activities.
